NP Plastics announces the appointment of Rob Smit to the position of general manager of the company. Rob assumed his new role from 1 January 2020. Based on this broad experience of the market, Rob will now take on the task of driving further growth and development at NP Plastics, in order to future proof the company for years to come.

“We are confident that with his extensive knowledge of and experience in the plastics sector, Rob will provide the strategic and managerial leadership required to expand and build on the quality improvement process embarked upon two years ago by NP Plastics,” Piet de Groot commented.

NP Plastics invests in state-of-the-art process cooling system

27 June 2017

At NP Plastics, we recently installed a new, state-of-the-art process cooling system. In line with our sustainability goals, we opted in favor of an integrated closed-loop system including a so called free cooler. The free cooler consists of five modules that have been installed on the rooftop and enables use to be made, when available, of low ambient air temperatures to cool the water in the process cooling circuit.

It is a highly economical solution, and one giving us energy savings of up to 25%. By installing the free cooling units on the roof, we were also able to increase the efficiency of the free cooler.

The new process cooling unit offers another advantage, as well: next to being efficient, it operates far more quietly than the old system, considerably reducing the proximity noise levels. Which is also excellent news for the neighbors: the noise impact of the new unit is much lower for them, as well.

arburg

Last week, NP Plastics put its brand-new Arburg into operation. It’s our newest injection molding machine, and, with a clamping force of 40 tons, is one of the smaller presses running at NP Plastics.  While its footprint  may be small, the new Arburg is designed for manufacturing efficiency and performance. Equipped with an  integrated robotic arm, this machine can produce top quality technical products which meet the tightest specifications and tolerance requirements, providing more benefits to our customers.

NP Plastics installs its biggest machine yet

This week, NP Plastics put its brand-new 450-ton injection molding press into full operation. The new machine allows us to mold products weighing up to 2 kg – in other words, twice the maximum product weight we used to offer. This substantially broadens the range of customer requirements –  both existing and future – that we are now able to accommodate. NP Plastics has equipped this newest addition to its machinery fleet with a 5-axis robot arm to ensure we provide maximum production efficiency to our customers.
